about love africa

Love Africa brings together over a thousand of believers from across the continent to be inspired about global missions,

informed about opportunities, and challenge them to get involved. It’s mission is to mobilize and empower the Church in Africa to actively engage and participate in God's Kingdom work to see vibrant communities of Jesus followers amongst the least-reached people groups.

Each year, Love Africa reaches and impacts church leaders, professionals, marketplace workers, and university students with mission-focused content shared by passionate global speakers. In addition, Love Africa offers programs for teenagers and children, providing a platform for them to be reached, discipled, and equipped to share His love.

Love Africa exists to:
1. Inspire believers towards kingdom participation.
We want to inspire, through teaching, mission engagement, social media communications, stories, panel discussions, etc. a variety of believers including current mission workers, marketplace workers, University students, church leaders, members of the African church, professionals, teenagers and children to live out the great commission to go and make disciples especially in least reached places with a particular focus on the Sahel Region.

2. Mobilise human resources, skills, prayer and financial support.
We want to build relationships with both the African and international church in an effort to mobilise people who are willing to give of their time, talents and financial resources. This includes connecting senders with goers, providing short term service opportunities, prayer resources and spaces and other things related to making what is needed available toward fulfilling the vision and mission of seeing vibrant communities of Jesus followers among the least reached with a particular focus on the Sahel Region.

3. Equip the body of Christ.
We want to provide activities, experiences, workshops, communications, media and resources that raise the awareness, knowledge and skills within the body of Christ regarding how to pray extraordinarily, engage deeply, sow broadly, disciple purposefully and see vibrant communities of Jesus multiplied among least reached people groups with a particular focus on the Sahel.

4. Collaborate with likeminded organisations.
We want to provide opportunities and pathways to collaborate and network with likeminded organizations so that we can maximize the efforts of fulfilling the Great Commission and seeing vibrant communities of Jesus followers among the least reached, with a particular focus on the Sahel Region.

5. Commission those who are going out to the mission field.
We want to publicly commission new families and individuals as they make the commitment to serve in a least reached area as well as creating a platform that highlights those serving and how people can prayerfully and practically partner with them in seeing vibrant communities of Jesus followers among the least reached, especially in the Sahel Region.

About OM

In 1957, George Verwer and two friends took a mission trip to Mexico. What began with three men who deeply desired to share God’s love with those around the world who did not know it multiplied into a global movement of believers with the same passion.

Today, more than 4500 OM workers representing 125 nationalities are serving or in partnership in over 147 countries, in addition to on board OM's ships. Today, more than 4500 OM workers representing 125 nationalities are serving or in partnership in over 147 countries, in addition to on board OM's ships. God has used us to take the gospel around the globe, and we won’t stop now. Over 2 billion people in the world today have not had the good news of Jesus presented in a way they could hear and understand. OM teams are actively working to establish vibrant communities of Jesus followers among these least-reached communities. As George Verwer himself said: “We will press forward until every creature has heard the gospel…the world is our goal!”
